Cracking Up...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
tell me that you HAVE read THIS book :

I am in the process of reading it at the moment. It's a very easy read and VERY humorous! Jon Acuff tells his own steps and advice to living financially free. This sounds boring...I know....but I promise you, it's not at all! Jon also has a VERY popular blog...maybe you have heard of it : www.stuffchristianslike.net - please go check this out too!

He has a lot of humorous illustrations to go along with him many financial points....I will leave you with this one (which cracked me up and hit a little bit home....all at the same time!) :

Go grab a copy of the book and enjoy it!!!

XOXO,

Hilary

It's pretty sad really....

Have you seen this show yet?!

I was laying around this morning and caught it on tv. I hadn't heard much about it so I wanted to see what it was all about. It's literally all of these girls that are competing to have the wedding of their dreams and all of the plastic surgery that they want/"need" as well! It's absurd! Their fiance won't get to see them until the winner gets all of her surgery done and the day before the wedding. I cannot imagine what will be going through the future husband's head!

These girls need to take a step back and need a hard slap of reality! Ladies...I know people say this over and over....but life is not all about looks. You need to make sure that your heart is good and then the rest will all just fall into place. Appearance really reigns huge in our world today but it just seems like people don't get it.

"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting: but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30

Make A Difference... COMMENTS PLEASE!

Want to make a difference in the life of someone this Christmas??

Send a Christmas card to a soldier!

I found this website ( http://www.redcross.org/holidaymail ) this morning and just mailed out my first one...but I am planning on mailing out even more before December 10! What an amazing feeling to know that you may have sparked some happiness in the life of a soldier or injured veteran just by sending them a sweet card at Christmas to let them know that you are thinking of them and praying for them!

I have decided...for each person's comment that I get on this post, I am going to add one more card to my list of cards to send out. Why wouldn't you want to make just one more soldier or injured veteran happy during this holiday season!?

I am planning on sending out many of my own cards, having my family send them out, my company will be sending some out....and I am spreading the word about this mission to everyone on Facebook and Twitter!

Please join me in inviting others to do the same! Get to writing, sealing, and stamping those letters and cards!

Holiday Mail for Heroes

Get to commenting so that I will have more and more cards to send out!

*** If you would like to donate some blank Christmas cards for me to send out and get others to send.... please email me and let me know! I will be happy to send you my address!

XOXO,

Hilary
