Missing College...

Who doesn't miss college?? I had the time of my life and met a lot of great people! The only cares that I had were making the right grades!

I really started thinking about that last night and began missing college so much! Sometimes you just get stuck in the rut of everyday life that you don't take a minute to stop and enjoy the things going on around you! I know I do...I wake up at 6:15 every morning...leave the house by 6:50...get to work, get my coffee, and begin my day teaching....come home about 4:30...cook dinner...watch tv and hang out...get in bed about 11pm. EVERY DAY! Geez! When did I get so B-O-R-I-N-G?!

Last night around 9pm I realized that I was bored! BORED...on a TUESDAY night... what do you do?! So...we piddled around the house until about 10 and decided that we should go somewhere. Where do you go at 10pm on a Tuesday night aside from Wal-Mart?! Well...we finally just got in Casey's truck and just drove around! We stopped and got snacks and continued to drive around and look at houses for about an hour last night! It was great! Nobody was around but us. We (meaning my friends and I...Casey and I were seven hours apat in college!) used to always just get in the car and drive around at all hours of the night in college...just to go out and talk about the pressures of college life, relationships, whatever needed to be said...or you know...even just to sing the occasional popular song at that time! We would even go spotlight the people who were making out down by the lake...just to see if we knew anyone! HAHA!

But really...I just miss that carefree feeling that I had in college! I want out of the rut! I am going to try to get out and drive around like that one night a week! Who cares if I go to bed late because of it!? I am just making memories with my sweet husband!

WHAT DO YOU DO TO GET YOURSELF
OUT OF A RUT???
XOXO,
HHL

We were talking about this at Supper Club. I miss the freedom of the days. I didn't really worry too much about my schedule other than attending classes and my part time job. Now I am chained to my daytimer!! Sounds like you had a fun night though!!

What a great post!! My husband and I are the same way. Come home...cook dinner...watch tv. I'll have to see if he's interested in doing the same thing!

I'm in my 3rd year of teaching and I feel SO OLD. I was telling my little brother who is in college how jealous I am of his nice, relaxing schedule and to CHERISH it--you grow up WAY too fast.

How on earth do you go to bed as late as 11?! Ohh man. Thats not enough sleep for me :)

I am totally in this same rut and don't know what to do to get out of it either! I am really missing having all my friends walking-distance away and weekends on the couch npt having to worry about grocery shopping, laundry or paying the bills. Can't we just stay in college forever!? ha!

You are too funny! I too will miss my college days, then I rememeber grad school, and no thanks!! But college was so fun! When I am feeling bored I try to get my self to exercise, or at the very least take puppy on a walk! It would be that or head to the fridge! Wow I am boring!!

Yes, college was the greatest time ever! Wait until you've had 3 kids; then you will really feel old and REALLY miss the good 'ole days!! To get out of the boring wife and mommy rut, I go to dinner with girlfriends or go have coffee with friends. Makes me feel young again!!! Even if it is for only a few hours.HEHE!!

i didn't go to a 4 year school so nothing for me to miss. although i do think i missed out on the "college life."
i think it's a good idea to get out of your rut!
my fiance and i kind of have a routine lifestyle as well. some nights we stay up late chatting on the kitchen counters a few nights a week. we don't mind missing out on sleep, we love our quality time together :)

Oh my goodness, I can totally relate to you. I actually am feeling the same way as you right now as I just accepted a full time job and I am worried about my life becoming mundane. I always get nostalgic when I am around the area of where I went to school, and then I think to myself... I am so lucky to have those memories and fun times behind me. Now you and your hubby get to make new fun memories!
