Dear Agave Nectar,
You intrigue me, intimidate me, and make me curious! I am so anxious to use you on something, but I have no idea where to start.
Yours questioningly,
Hilary
Okay...so Casey and I have watched Guy Fieri use Agave Nectar many times on his show. We were very intrigued by it and had never heard of anyone using it before. I would sometimes glance down the aisles at the grocery store and see if I could find any....but nope. Then, on Sunday morning, our friend John concocted some sort of drink using it! He said it was great stuff! Later on, we were at a farmer's market/organic grocery store for lunch and found some! We bought TWO bottles....light and amber. But now...we don't know what to do with them! I have been told that you can use it on pancakes or biscuits as a syrup or honey substitue. But, I want to COOK with it! It just seems so exotic and foreign to me! Can anyone help me out?! I would love to hear any recipes or ideas that you mgiht have for this stuff! :)
On another note....moving OUT day is on Thursday and moving IN day is on Friday!!! I am soooo ready for all of this to be OVER with, I cannot hardly control myself! Keep praying for our move!
Cannot wait to hear your recipes and ideas!
XOXO,
Hilary

All I ever hear Agave being used for is drinks so I'm curious to hear some recipes as well.
As for the moving - I wish you the best! I'm in the same boat rather soon and I'm actually dreading it. Happy Moving though!
We LOVE Agave....we use it daily! It gives you the "sweet" flavor in a healthy way!
We love almond butter/agave sandwiches... a little goes a long way!!!
I love to put it in my oatmeal... smoothies...recipes that call for a honey type ingredient...
It lasts forever...we are almost out and I think we bought that bottle at least 6 months ago!!
Interesting! I would be doing the same thing!! :)
I have heard of it, but never actually used it. I will definitely keep my eye out now though!
XOXO

I LOVE this stuff, but the only way I have ever used it was in hot tea. I need to try it on more things! But boy is it tasty!!
I bet it would be good as a fajita marinade.
I have heard of it but would have no clue where to use it or what to use it on besides pancakes or biscuits! Good luck!
We use it in marinades for baked chicken and bbq a lot to give it a little bit of sweet. :) Its also great to mix with your sliced strawberries instead of using sugar, great in a cup of coffee, or perfect for when you want to sweeten up your tea just a little bit without it being overpowering.
Cute blog! I'm glad I found it! PS-I am having a giveaway on my blog for a pretty little carafe!
Agave is actually a big health fraud in the natural products industry. It is the equivalent of spiking your food with high fructose corn syrup. Will mess you up in no time at all. Here is a good link on it... http://fresh-network.typepad.com/fresh_network_blog/2010/05/as-of-now-were-no-longer-selling-agave-syrup-heres-why-1.html?
I forgot to tell you last night, but I use to use it all the time because it tastes good in dessert recipes, in tea instead of honey, on top of strawberries for a dessert, etc.....but I seriously wouldnt use it unfortunately =(
i have it and have only ventured to use it in my morning coffee so far!
